Antecedentes: el regreso y un nuevo sonido
Después de la gira de "Black & Blue" y el lanzamiento de su primer álbum de grandes éxitos en 2001, los Backstreet Boys se tomaron una merecida y necesaria pausa. Durante estos años, el panorama musical había cambiado drásticamente. El teen pop de los 90 había desaparecido, y el pop-punk y el rock alternativo dominaban las listas. Proceso de grabación y colaboradores
Para lograr este nuevo sonido, el grupo trabajó con una nueva serie de productores y compositores, alejándose en gran medida del equipo sueco que había definido su apogeo. Colaboraron con gente como John Shanks (conocido por su trabajo con Bon Jovi y Sheryl Crow) y Dan Muckala.
