Sobre el álbum
Tras el éxito estratosférico de su debut, Echo llegó en 2009 con el desafío de consolidar a Leona Lewis como una de las divas del pop más importantes del planeta. En este segundo trabajo, la cantante británica profundiza en su sonido de pop y R&B, con una producción aún más grandilocuente y una colección de baladas épicas y temas de baile.
De esta manera, el sonido del disco es una evolución de "Spirit". La producción vuelve a contar con algunos de los nombres más grandes de la industria, como Ryan Tedder o Justin Timberlake, quienes crean un sonido potente y perfectamente adaptado a las radios de la época. Por esta razón, el álbum fue otro gran éxito comercial.
Además, el álbum contiene el exitoso single "Happy", una poderosa balada que permite a Leona Lewis lucir todo el potencial de su increíble voz. Asimismo, el disco incluye temas más rítmicos que demuestran su versatilidad. Ciertamente, es un trabajo que busca el equilibrio entre la balada emotiva y el pop más enérgico.
En resumen, "Echo" es una secuela muy sólida y de una gran calidad. Es un álbum que, si bien no tuvo el mismo impacto cultural que su predecesor, consolidó a Leona Lewis como una artista consistente y una de las mejores vocalistas de su generación. Por consiguiente, es otra pieza clave de su discografía.
