Con su álbum de 2004, The Moment, la cantante británica presenta un sonido de pop-rock más directo y con un mayor atractivo para un público masivo. En este trabajo, Lisa Stansfield se aleja del R&B más purista para crear una colección de canciones de pop adulto con estribillos potentes y una producción muy pulida.
La producción del disco, a cargo del reputado Trevor Horn, es grandilocuente y está diseñada para la radio. Las guitarras acústicas y eléctricas cobran un mayor protagonismo, y las canciones tienen una estructura de pop más convencional.
