Con su álbum de 1984, 1100 Bel Air Place, el artista español se lanza de manera definitiva a la conquista del mercado anglosajón. Este trabajo, su primer disco grabado mayoritariamente en inglés, es un proyecto de una ambición y una producción espectaculares, diseñado para convertir a Julio Iglesias en una estrella global en todos los idiomas.
El álbum está repleto de colaboraciones con algunas de las mayores leyendas de la música estadounidense. El dueto más famoso fue "To All the Girls I've Loved Before", junto al icono del country Willie Nelson, que se convirtió en un éxito masivo en todo el mundo.
