Sobre el álbum
El álbum Dancing On The Ceiling, de 1986, llegó tras el éxito estratosférico de "Can't Slow Down" y la participación de Lionel Richie en la escritura del himno benéfico "We Are the World". Por lo tanto, la expectación era máxima, y el artista respondió con una nueva colección de pop y R&B de alta calidad, consolidando su estatus de superestrella de los 80.
En primer lugar, el disco está liderado por la canción que le da título, "Dancing on the Ceiling". De hecho, este tema, un enérgico y divertido corte de pop-funk, es recordado sobre todo por su innovador videoclip, en el que Lionel Richie y sus bailarines, literalmente, bailan por el techo. Por consiguiente, la canción es un icono de la era dorada de la MTV.
Además, el álbum contiene el éxito número uno "Say You, Say Me", que había ganado el Oscar a la Mejor Canción Original por la película "White Nights".
