Con Through the Looking Glass, la banda decidió tomar un desvío creativo y grabar un álbum compuesto íntegramente por versiones de las canciones que los habían influenciado. A diferencia de un álbum de estudio convencional, este trabajo funciona como un homenaje a sus héroes musicales. Ofrece una fascinante visión de las raíces musicales de un grupo formado por auténticos melómanos.
La selección de canciones es muy ecléctica. Por ejemplo, la banda aborda con igual maestría el rock clásico de Cream en "Sunshine of Your Love", el reggae de Bob Marley en "Could You Be Loved" y el art-rock de Steely Dan en "Bodhisattva". En cada interpretación, la banda lleva la canción a su propio terreno sin perder el respeto por el original.
