El disco Two Years On de 1970 marca la esperada reunión de los tres hermanos Gibb tras su primera y agria separación. Con este trabajo el grupo inicia una nueva etapa, dejando atrás el pop psicodélico para adentrarse en un sonido de soft-rock y pop más directo y melódico. El álbum funciona como un puente entre sus dos grandes épocas, la de los sesenta y la de los setenta, mostrando a una banda en plena transición.
