El álbum Follow the city lights, de 2006, protagonizó uno de los giros estilísticos más radicales, sorprendentes y polémicos de la historia de la música española. En este trabajo, de hecho, Dover decide abandonar por completo su característico sonido de rock y guitarras para abrazar de lleno la música electrónica y el synth-pop. Por lo tanto, es una reinvención total que desconcertó a gran parte de sus seguidores.
En consecuencia, el sonido del disco está dominado por los sintetizadores, las cajas de ritmos y las melodías de pop bailable. La producción, a cargo de Daniel Alcover, es brillante y está perfectamente alineada con la estética del electro-pop que triunfaba en Europa en esa época. Como resultado, la banda sonaba completamente diferente, más cercana a Daft Punk que a Nirvana.
Además, el álbum fue un éxito comercial masivo. El primer sencillo, "Let Me Out", se convirtió en un número uno y en un himno en las pistas de baile. Por otro lado, la voz de Cristina Llanos se adapta sorprendentemente bien a este nuevo contexto, mostrando su faceta más melódica.
A pesar del éxito, el cambio fue muy criticado por su base de fans más roquera. En definitiva, 'Follow the city lights' es una obra valiente y arriesgada, un testimonio de la inagotable inquietud de una banda que siempre hizo lo que quiso, sin importarle las consecuencias. El título que aparece en la lista de álbumes, `It´s good to be me`, corresponde a un EP anterior de la banda.
