Sobre el álbum
Con The 2nd Law, de 2012, Muse volvió a sorprender a sus seguidores con un álbum ecléctico y, en ocasiones, polémico, en el que se sumergían de lleno en la música electrónica del momento. Este trabajo, por lo tanto, es su proyecto más experimental desde el punto de vista de la producción, llegando a incorporar incluso elementos del dubstep.
El single "Madness" es el ejemplo más claro de esta nueva dirección, una canción construida sobre una base electrónica y una línea de bajo hipnótica que se convirtió en un éxito inesperado. Por otro lado, el disco también contiene temas de rock potente, como "Supremacy", que abre el álbum con una energía arrolladora, y hasta momentos de funk en "Panic Station".
En consecuencia, "The 2nd Law" es un disco de contrastes, a veces irregular pero siempre fascinante. Es el sonido de una banda que, en la cima de su éxito, se permite el lujo de jugar y experimentar, demostrando una vez más su inagotable curiosidad y su rechazo a la autocomplacencia.
