Grabado con un presupuesto muy bajo para el sello independiente Subterfuge Records el álbum es una colección impecable de canciones de rock alternativo y grunge con melodías pop irresistibles. El éxito del álbum está indisolublemente ligado a la icónica canción que le da título, "Devil Came to Me".
