"Load" es el sexto álbum de estudio de la banda de heavy metal Metallica, publicado el 4 de junio de 1996 por Elektra Records en los Estados Unidos y por Vertigo Records internacional. El álbum mostraba el lado más hard rock de Metallica que el típico estilo de thrash metal de la banda, lo que enfadó a gran parte de la base de fans de la banda. También contó con influencias de géneros como rock sureño, blues rock, country rock y rock alternativo.

El batería Lars Ulrich dijo sobre la naturaleza más exploratoria de "Load": "Este álbum y lo que estamos haciendo con él, eso, para mí, es de lo que se trata Metallica: explorar cosas diferentes." "Load" es el primero de los álbumes de Metallica en presentar solo tres compositores, el otro es "Hardwired ... to Self-Destruct" de 2016. Con sus 79 minutos de duración, "Load" es el álbum de estudio más largo de Metallica.
