Lanzado en 1976, Destroyer es el cuarto álbum de estudio de Kiss y es su gran obra de estudio. El éxito de "Alive!" salvó a la banda y a su discográfica de la quiebra. Ezrin, un productor autoritario y a menudo descrito como un "dictador", sometió a la banda a un riguroso "entrenamiento musical", enseñándoles teoría musical y forzándolos a ensayar incansablemente.
