El álbum en solitario de Gene Simmons, lanzado simultáneamente con los de sus tres compañeros en 1978, es, con diferencia, el más ecléctico y ambicioso de los cuatro. En este trabajo, el "Demon" da rienda suelta a su amor por la música pop de los años 60, especialmente por The Beatles, alejándose del hard rock característico de Kiss. Es un disco sorprendente y lleno de contrastes.
En primer lugar, el álbum cuenta con una lista de colaboradores absolutamente estelar. Por él desfilan artistas de la talla de Cher, Donna Summer, Bob Seger y hasta su entonces pareja, Liza Minnelli. El disco tiene una producción grandilocuente y muy variada.
El repertorio va desde el pop barroco de "See You Tonite" hasta el rock potente de "Radioactive", pasando por baladas orquestales y coqueteos con el funk. La mayor sorpresa del disco es su versión de "When You Wish Upon a Star", el clásico de la película de Disney "Pinocho", que muestra su lado más inesperadamente tierno.
