Sobre el álbum
El revolucionario álbum Hot Rats representa un punto de inflexión monumental en la carrera de Frank Zappa, marcando su primer disco en solitario tras la disolución de la formación original de The Mothers of Invention. Publicado en 1969, este trabajo se aleja de la sátira social para sumergirse de lleno en el jazz-rock instrumental, con un énfasis absoluto en la composición compleja y el virtuosismo musical.
De hecho, el álbum es en gran medida una exhibición de las habilidades de Zappa como guitarrista y compositor. Por ejemplo, el tema de apertura, "Peaches en Regalia", se ha convertido en un estándar del jazz-fusion, una pieza instrumental intrincada y, al mismo tiempo, increíblemente melódica.
