La grabación en los Trident Studios de Londres fue meticulosa, con Dudgeon y Buckmaster trabajando en estrecha colaboración para tejer los arreglos de cuerda y viento alrededor de las maquetas de piano y voz de Elton. La asociación John-Taupin y el show en el Troubadour
